The mayor of Waukegan, Ill., recently explained that videos showing an officer shooting and killing a Black man and wounding a Black woman are expected to be released later this week. Mayor Cunningham said the city has plans to release squad car and body camera footage related to the shooting after the victim’s family are allowed to view them. This information was released after the prayer vigil for Marcellis Stinnette, the 19-year-old killed when a police officer opened fire on the unarmed who were inside their car in Waukegan, Illinois, a city just north of Chicago.
